Zhang Xiong Art correspondence Yang Haoshi’s Free-style Traditional Chinese Paintings Exhibition opened at Zhang Xiong Academy of Painting and Calligraphy on Feb.27,2016. More than 60 refreshing and elegant ink paintings with characteristic conceptions of Yang Haoshi are exhibited. The spirits of traditional free-style Chinese ink painting are fully expressed in his paintings. His free-style bird-and-flower and figure painting are also characteristic. All art lovers are sincerely welcomed to appreciate Yang Haoshi’s works and feel the charm of free-style traditional Chinese painting.

Yang Haoshi talked of his creating experience of traditional Chinese painting on the opening ceremony,“Apart from oil painting,I also created some traditional Chinese paintings,mainly figures and birds-and-flowers after retirement.The nearly 70 exhibits on this exhibition are part of my creation during recent years.”He also talked of why he created traditional Chinese painting,“The first is to adjust my painting life.with the increase of age,sometimes I feel laborious with oil painting.Painting traditional free-style Chinese painting,to some extent,is a relief for me.Secondly,my try in painting traditional free-style Chinese painting can help learn more about the spirits of traditional Chinese painting and art expression of traditional free-style Chinese painting.And that would be enlightening for my oil painting creation.”

Over recent years,his traditional Chinese paintings have been exhibited in many place in Southern Fujian and joined in 1st Fujian Free-Style Traditional Chinese Painting Exhibition.His traditional Chinese paintings are vivid,succinct,elegant and full of vitality of life and humanistic mood.His bird-and-flower paintings with rigorous and well-arranged composition feel more vital and poetic.The figures in his figure paintings are plumb and solid and full of true affections and emotions with succinct and smooth brushwork.
